Accounting As A Career Option
Choosing the ideal career is a life-changing decision. There are many aspects of life’s certainty as well as uncertainty have to be taken into consideration which is not an easy thing for a 17 year-old student. Even though it seems to be a risky thing, we are compelled to do it by the society’s force. What else can be the right way to decide a career other than being intuitive enough to hear our true calling? It was then I decided to be an accountant though accounts stream reminded me enough about broader career option in accounting field. After completing my secondary school with 2 years of accounts stream education, I decided to pursue my further studies in accounting. In other words, I chose to be an accountant on my own wish.
Accountancy has traditionally been a detail-oriented profession. Currently, contemporary accountants are gauged for their broader ability in accountancy by firms. Highly developed analytical skills, along with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate financial information added by brilliant IT skills, patience, painstaking eye for detail, and great diligence required to become an effective accountant. Inquiring about this field not only helps me to understand the basics of how business work, it also gets me closer to people who run them.
Choosing this subject in school was not a natural choice. I was influenced by my mother who must have clearly foreseen my inner strengths to be eligible enough to study accounting. However, I always enjoyed accounts subject. More than often, I lose the track of time, trying to balance the trial balance and statement of financial position. Theoretically accounts subject is quite exhausting but practically it is one of the most interesting branches which offer fascinating rules of calculating and measuring a company’s financial and management stability. Thus, I am confident enough to sound off my interest in this field to anyone who questions about my ambition.
If you hate it, you’ll be bad at it; if you love it, you’ll be good at it. With this in mind I can say with sincerity that I have a real passion for accountancy, the thing that really excites me about it, is that you will not only be dispensing technical advice but you will also be helping clients with their businesses in a real way, making them more cost effective and hopefully more profitable. Building up these contacts can help accountants move into areas of management later on in life.
For a change, I shared my essay on why I prefer accounting above all the courses. How about you?
I'm signing off by saying CHEERS! Have a great day ahead!
